I think I'd go with the Power FC if I went with that... just cuz that seems to have the better gains for the celica... well either way, it should take care of the CEL. plus just gives you a good reason to get it. atleast that was the excuse I had. lol

it wasn't set you back in your seat notice, but it was a good enough notice from when i put my foot down on the gas than it was before! LIFT isn't as much of a difference since it changes the torque and power curves more steady then one big burst of power. so i really like it. it's a lot of money but now that i spent it, i wouldn't want to give it up. hope that helps you.

Hey guys, just read through the thread and had gotten my hopes up WAAAYYY high...
If I remember correctly JC, your CEL code was "too lean" so the hope was that this mod would both improve performance with the CAI and get rid of the CEL. (Note to self: research the term: bogging) I swear I'm going to take my car in this week to learn what my CEL code is, but I'm pretty sure since I can redline it that it's too lean as well.
JC, do you think this would be worth doing on my car? And you've got to be kidding when you say "only" 3 hours!!!

Keely her CEL came back on after the third drive cycle...we are researching using the Unichip or PowerFC now. Another suggestion Jackie had was cleaning the MAF so don't know if that cleared up the CEL.

Before spending $1000US on the PowerFC I'm gonna check my O2 Sensors cuz those would also throw a lean code. I noticed a difference after the mod Keely... and after cleaning the MAF. Your cars are so new I wouldn't worry about a dirty MAF just yet.
I wouldn't recommend you doing this mod just yet... your intake is so new... it would really suck to have to cut it... but it's your choice. My intake is 4 years old so it didn't hurt that much... haha... if you do decide to do this mod I'd be more than happy to help you.

Geez, I was so hoping that would clear up the CEL! I had the interesting experience today starting up the Vibe after a two-week absence, where it turned over just fine but didn't seem to get anything in the way of fuel to make it ignite. It took about 3 minutes before what it seemed to me like the fuel started flowing and I got going. I little worrisome.
Maybe I should just try cleaning the MAFS first with proper stuff.

keely, it just seems wierd that you are one of the VERY few injen GT owners w/ a cel. i'm wondering if you should just take it out and reinstall it. see if maybe a hose was hooked up incorrectly?

Keely, The mod has worked for MANY people on newcelica.org. So chances are I have something else that is causing the problem. They were saying that the O2 sensors in the exhaust tend to crap out around 75,000kms-80,000kms. Like I said... I did notice a difference when I did the mod... it's just that the CEL didn't go away. My friend is going to read it for me and determine if it's the O2 Sensor or not. It might be worth a shot if you are willing to cut your intake. You should read that thread again... everyone seems to have had their CELs go away except for me.

Well I now have a Injen CAI in on my XRS......and no CEL for me. Also......I have 76,000km on my car......and no CEL for any sensors either. But who knows.....maybe the deer knocked them up enough that they will work longer.

Hmmm... is this enough of a reason to meet up? ;D I agree with Hope and re-check all connections and hoses before cutting up the shiny new CAI. Afterall, it was a loose hose which caused my CEL.
