Seems like a pretty good mod. I even noticed the bogging a bit with my car. But I will have to wait until I get my car back to attempt this mod.....that and find a stock intake box that I can hack up.  |

Oops forgot to add... I mainly want to do this to get rid of the CEL that I've had for 2 years now. I only really notice bogging when it's really hot.

Yeah I noticed it a bit then also....especially after a long drive from here to Calgary and then going down 17th Ave during game six of the Stanley Cup finals and doing burnouts. |

Well I started the mod tonight... tomorrow I'm gonna cut up my CAI... I've had it 4 years now so I'm ok with it... haha... I bought myself a dremmel today... wow what a great toy!!! I'll keep you guys posted tomorrow after all is said and done.  |

ya, i'm quite intrigued to see what happens with this and if it does take care of your CEL. especially since i had the same prob w/ my tundra and the CAI throwing my CEL. hmm..... too bad i had thrown away the factory airbox! oops!  |

I was still able to think a bit at 2:00 a.m. last night after racing, and my CAI is a 2-piece -- I might not have to do any cutting. I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow. (By the way, we're ready to put the sand layer on the patio tomorrow and maybe even start laying down some patio stones).

Wow what a great mod!!!! Only took me about 3 hours to do total time... bye bye CEL. We'll see if it stays off... I feel more low end power. |
