I had no problems.
Take a look at the socket, there are four knobs, two are smaller then the other two. The same arrangment is on the clear corner. Also take a look at how the knobs are angled at one side - that's the direction you need to turn to tighten them up. If you still have trouble, I'll take a look at them for you.

Yeah I know how they are supposed to... but they just don't. I'll check it again tonight... was just wondering if anyone else had problems.

Yes. There is supposed to be a round gusket, that sits on the palstic part of the bulb holder. It keeps the assembly water tight and also makes for a tight hold when you twist the bulb part into the clear corner. Maybe that is why yours is poping out, it's too loose with out the gusket.
