hmm.. i tell you mike, we need to make our way to the track and check this out. it'd be very interesting indeed. but i would most likely get rid of all my access weight. and unfortunately, i don't have any 15" steelies except my studded winter radials. my 17's are so freaking heavy! like 43 lbs each! so i know if i can lose some of that weight... maybe even take out the passenger seat and rear seats, sub/amps, spare, etc. and get a good launch and response time..... hmm

I had a bad night last night... It was my frist time racing on my 17's and boy did it slow me down... also this time around I had a CEL (which I hope to fix by tomorrow with that mod I posted) but anyway I was a whole 1.5 seconds slower than my fastest time. I could not break the 17.7 mark... which is a far cry from 16.2. It was just a bad night for my poor celica.

from what i'm told, wheel weight can make a huge difference! and if your engine's not up to snuff... well, not a surprise your times were much slower than they had been.

Hopefully after tomorrow I won't have that CEL and the next time we go to the track REdOX said he'd lend me his wheels again... same ones I used for my 16.2 run!

Well my best time was 17.476, he he ;D. Got to figure out how to launch properly and to pay attention to what I'm doing while shifting. It was an absolute blast I will definately be going again...I'm hooked. Plus I think the 10lbs of blood the mosquitoes got out of me helped.

I am so proud of all of your times! Ivan - Did you correct your times yet?

Corrected times are 16.733 @ 81.06mph I have alot of room for improvement, I have to work on my 60' times but chirping the tires in second was an awsome sound.

ok, i'll make a confession here. i don't really know what your times mean. since you have to do all these adjustments and what not....

The times that are posted are the 1/4 mile times... the reason we are correcting them is because we are 3500 ft above sea level. When you read car magazines and stuff like that all the times posted are usually sea level times where the air is less dense. Cars are slower here so we correct the times to see how we compare to the sea level times.

Did you notice I beat both Vibechick and CelicaGirl, plus I was only .2 seconds off Swirv's time ;D. I couldn't believe the times we were all getting not bad for our first times. Now ladies I believe there is a bet to be settled No so what did I win?

Well Ivan......we shall see what Sept. brings. I am curious as to what my car will do. Considering the stereo and everything that I will have in it....and the chrome rims.

ya, dj, your car's gonna be hella heavy and slow w/ all those mods. i'd be curious to see what you can do before you do all that work and then after. i'm sure those chrome rims are quite heavy too.

Yeah I am curious too though. However......I have raced a stock XRS before with all my mods and was still able to pull from him. And trust me....he was hitting lift also....and trying hard. So I do not think that my times will be off by too much from a stock XRS. But only the track will tell.
