Bummer. I guess the next thing to try is to change out the valve from the diagnostic.

Maybe the valve is fooked....or the vacuum line is. Has to be one or the other.

bummer, keely! yes, your codes aren't the same prob as i had. wonder what it is that's the problem. if it still won't go away after your "expert" looks at it, i'd put it back to stock and see if the cel goes off. if not, then take it in again. if it does, then you know for sure it was the intake! good luck with it!

Alright gang, I feel secure enough to post that my CEL is now gone! That's right, gonzo, blotto, absent, lacking, remiss, AWOL, removed, vanquished, non-existent....okay, you all know I could go on and on. War was generous enough to offer to give me some assistance, and I went down to his place on Saturday. Translated from Automotivese, there was nothing connecting the manifold with the EVAP, so the computer couldn't get a reading whatsoever as to what the pressure in the manifold was. War took one of the extra hoses I brought from the install and hooked it up to the manifold, then guesstimated as to which of the two possible tips it should connect to on the EVAP (the Celicia's EVAP only has one possibility). He showed me how to swap the hose to the other tip if the CEL came back on, and then reset the CEL with one of those computer things. Of course, there was still the possibility that this was not the solution, but seemed like the likely culprit. After 5 drive cycles, I'm all clear!!! Hey, can y'all tell I'm pretty happy about this? Big shout out and thanks to War for giving his time and expertise to help, and to JC for bringing us together.

So where is the group hug?? Well, I broadcast a number of kissy emoticons. A group hug will have to wait for the next meet.

It was a huge relief.... until it returned. I spoke too soon, I guess! I'm not panicking yet though. It returned just before I left for England (where I am now) and I didn't get a chance to swap the hoses on the EVAP like War showed me. <sigh> I am looking forward to the end of this saga....

Well, you're not the only one with a finicky CEL... mine came on Wednesday morning on the way to work. I don't know if the cooler weather is affecting the MAF sensor somehow or the hose to the smog unit got crimped again. I disconnected the battery and checked the hose -- not too badly bent, but I think I need a semi-rigid tube of some sort to connect the vacuum hose to the smog unit. Five drive cycles and we're doing OK.

So, after resetting the CEL again and not changing anything, I'm CEL free for a week.
I need a sign:
CEL-FREE FOR _9_ DAYS!
