yes, that's what i'm working on right now. i'm going to use my work or personal laptop, mount it in the rear seat of the car or behind the passenger seat, not sure yet. i'm missing the monitor though, so any suggestions for a small PC monitor would be helpful. planning to mount on the dash, doesn't need to be touch screen or motorized (although cool). i'm on a small budget here.... lol!

Small budget?? And you are installing a computer in your car?? HA! You can get a 7" monitor that would probably fit in your dash....or retro fit a different screen into the dash.

well, it won't work the way i was hoping, so it looks as if it'll be hacking up the dash and doing an in dash type system. but one of the guys on legacy gt will install the LCD in the faceplate for me since I simply don't have time to do it myself. plus, i'm not sure what all the electronics and chips are for so... i'd better let someone else do it. plus, he's only going to charge me $110 cdn for his time and effort. i think that's a steal! so, gotta work on relocating the clock to the ashtray and getting the faceplate off the car to send to him. www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13895&page=1&pp=20pics of his display: community.webshots.com/photo/400638837/400644224aEpNGQ#

blah... don't ask! still waiting on the PC! so far it was last checked in thru our crappy US Postal Service in Federal Way, WA last Fri. STILL NOT HERE! it doesn't take 3 weeks, going on 4 now, to mail something from East Coast to here! I think they may have lost it to be honest! but i'm gonna go ahead and try and get everything else all hooked up so that way it's just the PC to install when it arrives. i did get the wireless router and modem installed. picked up a range extender antenna yesterday to hopefully improve the range for the 802.11 G. we'll see how that works... it'd better since it was $50 for the antenna!

You should have done it locally; you know like get your own parts and such. Many has done it on MO and all look pretty good .

well, i figured this wouldn't have taken so long to do. but with working so many hours almost 7 days a week, no time. got the LCD in but no power yet. we have to relocate the power buttons to the top of the dash so hopefully will get that done this week too. atleast the car's back without being in parts. clock has been relocated, the OEM stereo aux in mod complete and now have to install the auto dim mirror w/ homelink.

alright, it's sooooo close to being complete. i'll be working on all the wiring and components here tonight and tomorrow. hopefully all i'll need to wait on will be the main board where the connector is missing (the power one). that will arrive on monday, so should be an easy swap and install!

OMFG! This is the NEVER ENDING PROJECT!!!! argh! so i am now going to redo the whole set up and mount the pc in the trunk. i'm rewiring the console so i can turn the front 3 12v sockets on or off and the rear 3 12v sockets on or off separately vs together like they currently are. this way i can cycle the modem and router if necessary without having to interrupt everything else. going to do a direct power from the battery to the PC to see if that will resolve the rebooting issue when the ignition is turned. i've rewired the on/off switch and extended it to the LCD panel so i can turn the PC on or off at the front of the car and the lights to tell me when it's on and data is being processed. also redoing the in dash to more of a dash display. i've totally ripped up the OEM center dash piece, but it was already hacked up so i figured at this point it doesn't really matter. i'll do some finishing touches on it in the next day or so as I'm needing some different sized screws (i can't seem to find the right size) to mount the screen in place. will get some pics of this all consuming project soon...
