For those who are thinking of going with a Turbo on their 2ZZ-GE engine.....here is a dyno for you to DROOL over. He is running 9si of boost. He has 297whp and 250lb/ft tourque!! And all of this on PUMP gas!! Amazing numbers when things are done right.

ya, been talking to the guy on GVC. however, it's not carb legal which imo, means the engine is going to have some issues. only time will tell. as for a lot of the s/c and turbo guys w/ the 1zz (lower compression even) have had their engines go BOOM! would still be sweet to turbo the 2zz, but glad i went with a car made for and around a turbo. plus, benefits of having all the techs know about them and deal with them on a daily basis, not to mention wrench and tune on their own cars.

True. But apparently the guy doing the work on his car really took the time to make sure that nothing would go wrong etc. But that still does not mean it will not happen. It is much better to buy a car built for a turbo, such as yours. Makes life a lot easier. Plus warranty is always a good thing.

yes, warranty is good. and even still, there is no way to be "safe" on NA cars. try as they may, they cut the life of the vehicle in half or more. i've watched some of the other guys with the 1zz's and they've had a lot of trouble, even with the s/c! it'd be fun, but as long as it wasn't your daily driver you have to depend on

ya, i'd totally slap on a turbo to phil's vibe once we replace it as a daily driver. make it our autocross car.
