well that was quick! they told us 1 month to 3 months for the travel docs and we got them yesterday via certified mail. picked up the packet today! so we're on for May!  now we gotta wait for his work authorization pwk so he can get the car registered at DMV, get his Social Security Number, and start job hunting. hopefully by the time we get back (June 1) he'll either have a job, or will have one soon after. so YAY!!! |

we have an appointment with immigration for Phil's work authorization pwk. hopefully we get it soon! and we are looking to arrive in Calgary late Monday night. we should be there tues through thurs and leave first thing on fri morning. i'd like to go to Edmonton for a day and check out the mall.  whoo hoo! hee hee... i can't wait. but perhaps we should look at a meet on Weds? or even Tues? anyone in Edmonton want to help us get around too? or directions to THE mall?  |

Ahhhh the "Mall" is easy to get too Hope. I can give you directions when we have the meet. If you want to have the meet on Tuesday that would be good because then you can head to Edmonton to check out WEM on Wednesday. So does Tuesday work for everyone?? |

yes according to Streets & Trips 2005, if we leave from Woodstock about 8 am or earlier, and pull into someplace to sleep by 10 pm, and again leave by 8 am, we should arrive in Calgary approx. 9:30 pm.

What days exactly are you looking at? I know there was mention in a previous response on this thread, but I just wanted to make sure that it hasn't changed. I can get 3 days off from work so I can trip down to Cowtown whenever. As well, that leaves me free to bomb around Edmonton to give you the heads up on the Mall and any other attractions. If you want to take me up on it that is |

They are the same dates as before.....May 23rd Hope and Phil arrive......and then the meet will be on May 24th. We have just not decided on a place yet.

It looks like I will have the time off that I will need. Mind you, nothing is ever certain until it happens when you deal with the military.
In any case, I should probably find out where the heck I am going in Calgary as well.
