As some of you know I have been having a grinding issue when downshifting into second gear. I thought that it was a transmission issue. Turns out that it was an installation issue with the Fort McMurray dealership that put in my TRD clutch in June. So TRD is replacing my clutch under warranty, and giving me a new flywheel as well. So everything will be NEW again tomorrow.

Well to be honest I am not too sure on the complete difference because ever since the original TRD clutch was put in I was having issues. So hopefully this one was put in properly and I will definetely be putting my opinions on it in here. So we all have to wait until my car is done at the body shop before I can tell you....so it should be the middle of next week when I get my car back...hopefully.

I had grinding issues going into second when I went with a 75w90 synthetic tranny oil. It turns out that the real good synthetics (redline, royal purple, and mobil 1) so so slippery now that the syncro's can't do their job. What you end up with is some grinding (mainly on 2nd for some reason). I switched to redline MT90 which is a synthetic oil, but has some special aditives to help syncros work better. Right after I put it in all of my grinding issues went away. If anyone has put in synthetic gear oil in their tranny and have grinding issues you may want to change it out to redline MT90 or to a non-synthetic oil.

Ahhhh......ok. See I have Amsoil in mine......that might be why too. Where would I be able to get the Redline for the car?

Ya amsoil is a really good synthetic too, it's probably why to slippery as well. You can pick up redline MT90 at Mopac in calgary, they are on 16 ave a few blocks east of peters drive in.
