It's a slow day in the neighbourhood which gives me plenty of time to think. I know everyone has turbo on his / her mind, but does anyone have an opinion on nitrous? I have a friend in Vancouver who swears by it.

Nitrous is good.......but it is only a short burst......where is a turbo or S/C is better.

I htink some of the kits out today are not bad. THis is one of those things you get done professionally, and use in moderation. Would be cool.

Nitrous is good if you plan to get another engine soon; a few mo members experiencing some problems with the engine (components).

Nitrous is good if you plan to get another engine soon; a few mo members experiencing some problems with the engine (components). I'm not too certain about that. With NOS, you can turn it on and off. As for a turbo, which will kick in after like 2500-3000RPM cannot. The turbo will put constant stress against the motor as with NOS it won't. Also, NOS does not give you the same amount of HP as a turbo would which eliminates further strain to the engine. No doubt everyone has their own experiences and opinion, but that's just mine and that's what I have heard from lots of people. Also with nitrous, this is just for information, it can act like a turbo if you want it to. There is a full throttle mod that you can add on with your nitrous kit. The basic function of this mod is so that you can drive your car with nitrous turned on and not use the nitrous at all. It will only activate at full throttle and at a certain RPM. So say you have your throttle all the way down past the ground and as soon as you hit say 3000 RPM, it will automatically run your nitrous into your engine. Kind of the same idea as a turbo, only spooling at a certain RPM and only at full throttle. It's a nifty little mod that can make your car run relatively faster. But nonetheless, nitrous isn't all that bad for your engine. Turbo can actually wear and tear your engine more than nitrous I believe. Also, the constant strain against our weak tranny from your turbo, you'll be looking at a new tranny as well. Nitrous, on and off whenever your wish, addictive nonetheless but can only be used on the track anyways. Turbo, addictive toy, need to hold back on the gas otherwise your car's looking at early retirement.
