Yeah I am curious too. I really wish that our cars had better low end on them. That way we would not have to rev it somewhat high when launching off the line and would have less of a chance of stalling the car.

did you have it tuned more for your car or did you just buy it and put it in?

you have to tell them what is on your car. i just had out of the box maps though, no custom tuner around here and can't do etunes like i can with my cobb AP unit.

But you can always send the Unichip back to have them tune it a bit right?

yes. or go to a shop that is certified to tune unichips for a custom tune. honestly though, on these cars, it's not worth doing a custom tune unless you are HEAVILY modified. to get 2 or 3 more hp isn't enough to justify the price. just mho.
when you have a F/I engine, different story. a custom tune could net you 20 whp! vs only 2 or 3 whp. however, there was a tuner that came up just recently and a few people spent the $400+ to have a custom road tune and they were EXTREMELY disappointed. my etunes (custom e-tunes) maps are so much better than just the off the shelf maps my AP came with.

I would not get a tuner or go to one because like you said the gains would not be that substantial to justify spending that kind of money. I would just have it done at the factory and call it a day.

yep, pretty much. unless you go with F/I it's just not worth the money.
