I love this car!

so i had to go out to the mat-su valley today for work. the highway is 2 lanes on each side, a big median all the way there and back, many areas just a nice long straight stretch of recently paved road. on my way back, about 3:30 PM so no real heavy traffic, this A4 is riding my tail like no tomorrow. it's a 45 mph zone right before you get onto the highway and i'm doing about 60 mph. i just got the car, it has 300 miles on it and i'm not gonna push it too hard. (ok, i'm trying not to push it too hard. lol) the A4 is not letting up, just riding my bumper. i get over in the right lane to let him pass, obviously he's in more of a hurry than i. as he passes me, he lines up and paces me, then GUNS it, obviously wanting to race me.

at this point, after he's revving his engine and blows by me, i'm like wtf?? oh, hell no! so i drop the car into manual shift and gear down to 4th, 4000 rpms= 250 ft/lbs, 6000 rpm= 250 hp! so i take off to catch up to the guy. we pace each other for about a minute or so and he takes off! so i take off too (of course). as we pass this dodge dakota, he decides he's gonna join in. i'm told the sube gt has a governor, but it's not where the vibe gt is. lol. i've never gone that fast and so smoothly as in this car! it was amazing! that A4 was fast, but not fast enough! lol. when i finally looked down and saw i was going well over 120 mph, i decided it was time to slow down! it didn't feel like the vibe at 120 all shaking and loud. sure the rpm's were high about 5000 rpm, but the engine was still pretty quiet and the ride was as smooth as a baby's butt! the dodge kept up with us but he wasn't even close to pass either.

I have had my car up to the limiter....229km/h.....once....and it was not shaking or loud at all.

As for the A4.....was it the 1.8T...or just a regular A4?

nice I was able to pull on a regular A4.....it was a rental....so it was a base one with an auto....but he was driving it like it was stolen. It sure was nice to beat him with my wagon.

There is no 1.8T out there...only 2.0T isn't it?

Anyhow, whatever it is, just to remind you all, that a stock A4 isn't very fast. At 160HP, and the weight at like 3200+ Lbs, the car isn't very fast. Haha, I'm not surprised the either of you pulled on it like you did.

The turbo ones are actually the slower ones in 2006. I can't remember what it was like for my brother's, but in 2006, the turboed ones are actually slower than the none turbo.

Just tuned differently to perform at different levels. Or the turbo sizes change between model to model, and so on and so forth. It's German engineering...it gets complicated, haha!

Well, lets just say its slower...I can keep up with it cause I'm like 1000Lbs lighter but 20HP less, but not beat it.

The '05 A4 has a 2.0T...where as last years and before have the 1.8T.

Yeah the new one is 2.0T at 200HP and supposedly with the chip it'll do 250HP easily. German engineering...so much easier to mod.

well the COBB access port (ecu mod) will add 40 hp and 55 lb-ft tq by itself. the stage 2 (COBB AP and turbo back exhaust) will produce 55 hp and 95 lb-ft tq! apparently there is a turbo upgrade from deadbolt that i'm waiting to see some info on. it's running about $1099 is all. place in canada is installing it on a LGT. he's going to let me know the gains and such.
