I'm ready to bang my head on my desk....

So the computer has this obnoxious virus on it, that I think my daughter accidentally installed (she's not supposed to use this computer because I need it for work when I'm on call...otherwise I may have to drive downtown in the middle of the night). So anyways, this program is called SpyQuake2, and it advertises itself as a spyware removal tool...HAHAHA.

So in the meantime, it hijacks your computer, your internet home page...all sorts of annoying things. It slows everything down, randomly blocks websites, constantly pops up warnings telling you your computer is infected and that it can help you if you install it (bastards).

And the best part...it pops up ads constantly - there's freaking breasts and ads for getting laid now all over the screen all the time

So tonight I'm trying again to remove the mother fucking piece of crap software (boy, I'd like to get my hands on those programmers and beat the crap outta them)...and I need to reboot the computer in safe mode...

This was my last straw for the evening. We have a (*#&$*(#& Dell USB keyboard plugged in. Guess what....no USB drivers are loaded until windows starts up. SO NO BOOTING IN SAFE MODE!!! ARGH!!!

So I have to go dig an old ps2 keyboard out of the basement and try again tomorrow.

For now, I'm having a freaking drink

I did manage to get it removed without having to wipe the hard drive and re-install....WOO HOO!!! Victory is mine!!!


In other news completely unrelated to computers...we ran into Ivan today at Blockbuster. Says he's doing well, travelling a lot for work, and spending what free time he has with his children.
