Well I havent been around here much lately, but heres the latest on the trix.
Noticed a transaxle leak, had it checked out, case was determined to be cracked. Was replaced under warranty. Awesome and thanks. Technician noticed a problem with 6th gear, hadnt occurred before but they took care of it. That took 2 trips to the dealership but I like to think I'm a patient and reasonable person so no biggie other than missing the trix. Got car back and no 3-2 downshift possible, they replaced the 2nd/3rd gear synchros and apparently that didnt fix the problem either. So, new tranny was ordered and hopefully have the car back early next week. Dealer had their specialists and many technicians look over the tranny to find out the cause but after throwing so many parts at the problem the best thing was to replace the tranny. They as of yet not been able to find a cause for the problem and I dont know if they ever will or if it is even worth it for Toyota to try and figure out where or how the problem occurred. They are quite aware of the mods I have had done to my car, ya cant really hide those and say that none of those could have caused the problem. So so far I have been driving in a courtesy car for 19 days, will be 23 days by Monday if the car is back together by then. There were no prior indications of any tranny problem and I believe they did a thorough check to see if they were in any way related. So good experience with the dealership and just bad luck for my trix. Luckily the car is still under warranty.
