I dunno, if you have the cash and want to get it, go for it. Unless it's too much $$$ and headache for the gains you will get. Cost + installation on these things is usually pretty high isn't it?

Well the installation would not be too hard because it is right at the front of the engine. I could probably do it myself. But yeah I would be curious on what a pricw would be for it. Bang for buck is always a thought.

i'd rather go with a turbo than a s/c if you want fast. if you want better low end all the way on the power band, then a s/c will do it. it's more for the daily driving. turbo lag sucks, luckily i don't have too much of that on mine. what kills me, is the top end.... that sucks. i need a bigger turbo, TMIC, or headers..... not necessarily in that order either.

And what we need for the 2ZZ is bottom end right off the line....and that is where the S/C would be superior to a turbo. The turbo definetely helps in the top end....but with our cars and the 2ZZ that is where these engines are better then other engines is that the top end is really fast.
So adding a S/C would be very good for me because I use mine as a daily driver and would love to have the low end tourque.

SC is a good way to go with a GTS/2ZZ. IMO, that's what the engine needs and requires for a good push start. Otherwise off the line, the 2ZZ won't beat the 1ZZ until lift hits.
But, as safe as it sounds, you still need extensive tuning and possibly some internal reinforcement if you wish to keep the engine. It isn't just a bolt on and go, you still need to tune. I would look into the Greddy SC for the 2ZZ or even the Blitz (if you got the money). There is always the custom way to go but with say the Greddy and Blitz, you can find user feedback and company inputs when you need it. Always a bit more user friendly than custom. Custom, you depend a bit on luck, and the rest is just testing over and over again until you get the results you wish for.
If I ever get a Celica again, SC is first on my list if I get GTS. GT I would turbo.

Also, one thing to add. If you wish to boost the car above recommendation (Blitz is around 4-5 psi and I think it's the same with Greddy) then definitely you need internal reinforcements. Such as LSD, low compression pistons, stronger cams, etc. You could run stock internals with the recommended psi, but after time it'll still catch up to you.

Well Lotus is running a completely stock 2ZZ-GE with there S/C. That is why this looks rather possible.

I am not too sure on the drivetrain itself....but the engine was basically stock from what they are saying. No major mods to the internals on the engine. I am guessing that they have done extensive testing and tuning for the engine before putting it on the streets.
