As some of you may or may not know... I met Metallica... and I got my guitar signed by them. I wanted to get the guitar framed but I've been quoted around $700 to do this... and that's a new set of shocks for my celica right there!!! Anyway... I saw some hangers that you can mount to the wall and it'll hold the guitar that way. So... it's either pay $700 for custom framing or $20 for a wall hanger. Oh and a very generous person offered to make me a box but I wasn't sure if he was joking or not... but then I'd still have to buy the glass and frame it somehow.  |

Well if it were me.......I would get it framed and glassed because I would want to keep the dust off of it and everybody's grubby little fingers too.  |

Yeah I'm worried about dust as well.... but I am a little scared to spend $700 to frame it... for that price I'll keep it in the case and only take it out if people want to see it.

frame it! and see if your friend will make the box. then you can get a nice piece of plexiglass (not as heavy and more durable) to go over it. but definitely hang it so it doesn't get ruined or the autographs don't fade away. i'd also put a pic of you and them w/ the guitar in the case as well. or..... can you get a nice glass case that you could put it in? even one of those tables that you can place things inside, glass on top so you can see what's inside it? that'd be kinda cool. |
