I took an SRT-4 for a test drive last night. Pretty fast I must say! Too bad there was too much traffic to really see how it moves. I think I'll have to go and take it for a longer drive when there is less traffic. ;D
What's everyone's opinion on the SRT-4? I think it's not the sharpest looking car, but you sure can't knock the performance.

All I can tell you that it's like a sleeper; a guy in MO has one he did a little mod to it and it's even faster now. If you didn't know this, those srt-4s hp are underrated and you'll know what I mean when you dyno one .

Everyone have their own opinion; I do not like neon as well but seems to me she has her heart set on it you need a jaw of life to do anything about it ;D.

What about reliability?

Well, I think with any performance car you are at least to some extent trading reliability for fun.
I agree that the reliability probably isn't the best, but this is a car to drive for fun. It does have a good warranty too, which helps.

Yes the SRT-4 is fun to drive.....test drove one myself. Great power and definetely a "sleeper" car of sorts. I am just not a fan of how it looks. It still looks like a Neon to me. The Subie though is a good car too. If I had the $$$ I would have a WRX Sti in my driveway....without question. 300hp and 300lb/ft tourque. It is too bad though that the Vibe/Matrix are limited in the mod depo.....even more with the engine when it comes to the GT/XRS.

It's a real bummer about the aftermarket support for the Vibe/Matrix. What limited parts are available are really expensive. It's sad when the Chevy Aveo has more support than our vehicles do. Looks-wise, I actually prefer the SRT-4 in black to the STI. Subaru just makes ugly vehicles. The SRT-4 looks like it has pretty good aftermarket support. Lots of turbo upgrade kits, short shifters, intakes, you name it.

Oh yeah there is TONNES of aftermarket support for the SRT-4. But if you ever need anything.....you better come by Derdall Designs. I am sure that we can take care of you. And you better still come to the meets if you do buy the car.

i can't believe you actually think the neon looks BETTER than the subies! lol. but if phil was working already, then i'd trade my vibe gt in on a silver 04 STI that's for sale downtown for $28K! i'm half tempted to go down there and just "see" but i know what would happen.... i'd buy it! lol.
