Yep, been getting lectured from Vince. He says we're both crazy Hope. lol. I still have to check on a couple financial things before I know for sure if I can get the car. Should know within a day or so... ;D i hear you! i'm supposed to go see the finance guy tomorrow to see what's going on and if i have the car or not. i thought i did, but then i stopped into the dealership today and he wasn't there. another guy was there and said he thought it didn't go thru. i told him well i tt gary (the finance guy) yesterday and he told me it was approved but they could only offer me $11,775 for the car (low book) as is. that means i have to put a substantial amount down (i should have enough). but we'll see tomorrow i guess. he gave me a list of all the things i need to bring. so crossing my fingers now.

Good luck! I hope it works out for you. The re-sale on the Vibe had me quite disappointed, but what can you do.

Well if I were to sell my car........as is......with the high km's....I could easily get $20,000 for it. Private sale of course. The dealership would only give me $12K to $14K....tops. BLAH on the dealership.

well i may decide to get a legacy gt limited (as what i was planning to get in the first place). the subie dealer has one on the used lot for $4K less than retail! plus, it's the same price as the sti and they told me they could probably give me a little more than wholesale since they have more profit to play with. i really want to get $13K for my gt. it has less than 500 miles on it, totally loaded! only thing is it's not the color i want, but is a dark blue. i suppose that's ok.

well, no sti for me. didn't even get to test drive the thing, serious buyers only. like what the hell am i??? come on! that just pissed me off! so i went to the subie dealership and test drove the legacy gt. omg! it was soooo awesome! and i didn't even get the chance to fully "test" it. used lot with only 202 miles! it's NEW for a used price! but because of that, they will only give me wholesale, once again. so i'm still in the same boat. agh! but this car is actually WORTH the money! it's soooo nice! but we'll see tomorrow. again, gotta wait to hear if i can get financed on this.

one of my roomie's friends loves my car and is going to see if she can buy it. i'll pay the $350 for the tags and im and give her the bumper and winter rims if she does. sell it for $13K then i only have to spend $1950 (including the tags/im). that means i can still put a good chunk down on the new car without completely depleting my savings! she's gonna talk to her dad and see if he'll be willing to help her out.

Yeah well welcome to the world of automobiles. You will NEVER get a good resale on any car......especially when trading it in to a dealership. The only way that you will get what you want for the car is selling it privately.
No car will actually go up in value.....unless it is a classic and it is fully restored.
It sucks......trust me I know....but what can you do right? Even when you buy the subie.....you are still going to get screwed with resale.

Yeah, it sucks. You never get your money back out of a vehicle, especially a financed vehicle.
