Some of these songs are already out....some are not. LL Cool J - Rush Damn good track with some nice movement to it. Smooth bass and definetely one of the "lets get it on" tracks. Britney Spears - My Perogative Yeah I know we all hate her.....but she does have a way of making a good track.....and this is one of her better attempts at making a classic into a new hot track. I like it.......but I prefer the original by Bobby Brown better. Nelly feat. Christina Aguilera - Tilt Ya Head Back Awesome track! Nelly is on fire with his new albums. His new one with Tim McGraw - Over and Over is also a hot track. Definetely an artist to keep an eye on. Beenie Man - King Of The Dancehall Another Reggae track that is going to light up the dancefloor at any club. Great feel with the bass line and easy to dance too.

LL Cool J - Rush Damn good track with some nice movement to it. Smooth bass and definetely one of the "lets get it on" tracks. Unfortunately, this track is just another one in his string of "relationship" singles and there's no really distinctive hook to set it off. I don't think it will do well at all. LL hasn't released a great single since "Phenomena", and as an old school rap fan, that kinda makes me sad. She doesn't have any way of making a good track. Her "hitmakers" dress up her complete lack of singing talent into complete lowest-common-denominator pap. The only good thing about this song is that she probably didn't need her voice completely doctored when it was recorded - her vocals are nasal and completely mimic Brown's interpretation of a non-existent melody line. What's more, I don't think they even recorded new instrumental tracks - they just jacked them from the original. Interesting to hear Nelly sampling from the Beastie Boys' Eggman off Paul's Boutique. Is it really that challenging to find samples that haven't aren't been used in the vast music library out there? Nelly's vocals are nothing but singing here, and given the past history of rappers trying to sing...hello, can you say Busta Rhymes? (at least Missy E knows well enough that you go the *other* way). I've heard the Tim McGraw track on the radio, and again - who told this guy he should sing? The only thing that makes this track somewhat palatable is Christina's vocals - her stuff usually isn't in my wheelhouse but noone can deny that she's got one of the most incredible voices in pop music. Dancehall is no more reggae music than C&W is alternative rock. Just because people in the same region of the world make it, doesn't make it the same genre of music. Anyway, that rant aside, I don't mind this track. I find Beenie's vocals pretty smoothed out in contrast to even something as recent as "Dude" - I just hope this guy avoid's Shaggy's fate in his pursuit of conquering white suburban America. Great riddim though! So, 1 out of 4.... ;D

Holy smokes! You guys sure know your music. I was just going to point out that "Nelly" is different from "Nelly Furtado" .... just so no one gets confused as I once did.

Like you could stop me. Here's a few I've added to my playlist recently. Most are new tracks, but the older ones are noted as such. Natasha Bedingfield - These WordsWhen I was in England several weeks ago now, this was a big T40 pop song. Yes, she's the younger sister of Daniel Bedingfield, whose "Gotta Get Through This" was Track 01 on my MP3 player for about 18 months. Hey, I can be a pop slut too. As catchy as catch can, the lyrics are good enough to listen to multiple times. Destiny's Child - Lose My BreathSpeaking of being a pop-music slut, I buy this song hook, line and snare drum. I don't care what kind of music you're into, this song is like fast food - they had to put some kind of additive in it to make it so irresistble. Plus, it panders to my "I was in the drum corps of the marching band in junior high and loved the movie "Drumline"" quirk. I'm lovin' it! Fugees - Ready Or Not (Jungle Remix) (not new) I usually don't enjoy jungle beats but this remix is terrific. Plus, it samples Enya's Boadicea which you also hear on Marion Winan's I Don't Wanna Know but it sounds even cooler here. Sarah McLachlan - Stupid (Hyper Remix)Like the track above, I heard this on a Sirius station. Sarah's songs are often remixed with amazing results (see the Remixed compilation), and this track is right up there. It's something about her voice - it seems to take on the colour of the new background track and brings out some different emotional nuance you hadn't heard before. DJ Boast - Beats IntunenationalOff Bastard Pop, another remix of a classic Beats International track, Just Be Good To Me.

The Fugees have a great sound that seems to be getting more and more requested these days. I have the original CD and enjoy it very much. The new Destiny's Child is also a good song and is catching some major steam in the clubs. I sure hope the rest of their album will be just as good. I have many of Sarah's remixes....I have been getting them through the DJ pool for a long time. I have noticed a lot more influence from the 80's making its way into newer tracks with some songs being reborn or sampled. Either way........definetely nice to see. My prediction is though that R&B/Hip-hop is going to not be as strong as it is in 5 years. The market is just getting too flooded and people are getting somewhat "bored" with it. I find that the oldies are being asked for now.......80's rock, 90's dance....or even old school rap.

Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
Great track... I liked Green Day's first album way back when... but now they have a new sound and I like it even better!
Jet - Look what you've done
I wasn't a big fan of 'Are you gonna be my girl' but this one is very good... give it a listen.
Snoop Dogg - Drop It Like It's Hot
Believe it or not I actually really like this one... I never thought I'd like any hip hop/rap music but this one has a nice catchy beat.

Snoop Dog - Drop It Like It's Hot Well Jackie....I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. I think the song is boring and too slow. I know that a lot of people like it.....but for me.......it does nothing to catch my attention. Did I mention boring?

You betcha!! And we are usually booked at least 6 months in advance on Christmas parties....and about a year on weddings. So it is tough....especially now....to try and fit someone in at the last minute. Unless they are flexible on the date of the event usually there is nothing that we can do for them.
