So anyway... I was trying to change the bulb covers for my A/C Temp Controlls and I broke something and now the right side does not light up. So I figure now it's ok to paint the console. Should I: a) Get it painted to match the car b) Get it painted a metallic black (sorry no pics)

I like the black idea. I wouldn't make it too glossy.

hmm. i like the idea of painting it to match, altho the black would make it a little more original. what's your color scheme again? dark blue, cf, and black?

I think there's a lot to consider. The colour of your console lights and stereo equipment, seats, etc... Definitely need full interior pics.
I want to do mine black for sure!

It's not really a dark blue... it's the one that you see in the pictures there... the celica also came in a Carbon Blue which is almost black. The problem is that the interior of the older celicas is grey and I'm not sure how I feel about the blue on grey scheme... that's why I thought about going black. As for the CF that will get painted over in a couple years anyway... once it gets chipped up.

I would get it painted to the color of the car.....it would look a lot better then the black and give it a more custom look.

I have pretty much decided to go with the black. If I had the 2003 interior where everything was black then I might consider the blue... but the blue and the current interior just don't go well together at all IMO.

Maybe a black paint with a few blue metallic flecks in it... not over done though... just a little bit of it.

I was just thinking the same thing. Just don't go super glossy. Makes it look cheap in my opinion. Not sure if it possible to have diffrent levels of gloss.
Now all your dust will realy show up. ;D

Here's another question... should I also get the trim around the gauges painted as well??? Please keep in mind those are NOT the colours that I'm getting.

2003+ interior... looks like she's got metallic flecks in her paint.
