depends on what kinda cf hood you want to get. just an oem one or like a nice ram air or something? if it's just an oem, then i'd say no not really. too boring. but if you are gonna get one that's a ram air or induction hood, then yes.

I'm gonna be diplomatic and suggest a painted, carbon fibre hood with ram-scoops. ;D

Well the unfortunate part is that there is only the OEM one available. So if I want to go with a Ram Air type hood.....I will have to have a custom job done to my stock hood....which is definetely something that i am going to look into.

I think there are a couple of different CF hoods....the OEM and the one Purplenv has......but that is about it. And honestly....the only one I would buy is the OEM one. But if I can get a custom job done to my stock one....well then I shall do it

yes, nothing like having an original! i'd probably go that route too, mike. don't like having one that everyone else has.

So I have decided on the type of hoodscoop that I am going to go with in the car. I am going to get a Subaru WRX style hoodscoop. It is going to be non-functional due to the fact that our winters here are stupid cold and I want to try and keep as much heat in the engine in the winter. But it will be an original that is for sure. More details and pictures to come when it is done.

Cool idea, I saw one of the pics at the Michigan meet had a Vibe with the Subu type scoop on it (Hope help me out here), can't wait to see pics.

Why not make it functional by building in a pivoting flap that you can open up in the summer, but close it during the winter?

Because i would have to cut out cross members in the hood which would effect the rigity of the hood. Not something that I want to do.
