So the car came out of the body shop on Tuesday, and boy was I ever happy. Wanted the door fixed ever since the f***er hit and ran me back in August. Anyhow, I was happy when the car first came out of the shop, but now I'm rather disappointed.
Why? The paint is a tad shade lighter than the rest of the car. Pissed off and upset, I'm tired of my car. I can't do anything cause the car is leased for another 2 years still. So I'm in a predicament, should I:
A) Go back to the body shop and complain? I don't know if I can do this, I'm not the type to complain and such you know...I just don't have the nerve for that I think.
B) Let it sit for another week, see if the paint will match after it's had some oxygen to it?
C) Just let it sit forever, no more modding and just wait till my lease term is up and just see if I can get another vehicle?
I don't know what to do, I really want to go complain but I would not know what to say. One, I already mentioned I'm not the type to complain about anything and two, cause I have no clue about paint and I don't want to be talked into by the guys telling me, "Oh, it's supposed to be like that." I don't want that, I just... I'm just frustrated now.

I would definitly give a phone call and ask will the colour change as it cures or something like that. Just to let them know your concerned. Then, if it dosen't change, I would want to talk to them and see if they can work something out. Most places have some sort of grevience policy.

if you paid them to do a job, then they should do it right. i know if i did something unsatisfactory, then i'd want to know so the customer didn't think my company was bad or tell others negative things. feedback is important to any good company. give them a chance to make it right. as for your lease, then yes, i'd not do anything more to that car or you're just throwing your money away! i put over $6K into my vibe GT and i've gained absolutely nothing out of it other than some satisfaction from spanking a few hondas. lol. nothing for the leather interior and heated seat, nothing for the tlc and love i've poured into it (not including the money!). i'm parting mine out as much as possible to sell them and recoop as much as possible!

Oh I've already past the $6000 point...but your speaking $6000 US probably, that is where I'm probably at. Can't stop the mod, plus I just want to get my car to the point where I'm really satisfied. I might not even part ways with it even when the lease is up. But I'm not sure.
As for the bodyshop thing goes, I think I'm going to goto another shop and see what they think of the job. Get some other professional opinions and take it from there.

yep, we'll have to see what happens from here. good luck to you, sounds like a good idea to get some second opinions from other places. then if they say it's a shotty job, you can go back and know it's true and not just what you think!

Well the unfortunate part with paint is that when new paint is put on only part of the car it is going to be a shade or two off because of fading already. My car is like that since I had the front end repainted because of my incident with the deer. Just one of those reality's that happens. But if yours is way off I would definetely be taking it back.
One thing I have learned is too take a real good look at the car in outside....preferably in the sun.....before leaving the body shop.

Oh I took a close look, I know what it's like when cars get painted and such so I wanted to make sure things were okay. It's a good job, but I think they couldn't have lived up to their reputation a little better. I know the fading will be there, and it really sucks, nonetheless there's nothing we can do. But with your car, ya see, it's silver, I think silver is an easier color to match then say my blue. I don't know, just a personal opinion. How's the bazookas in the trunk coming along? Haha!

LOL Bazooka's.....funny! It will feel like one hit ya when I get the 4 12's put in this week. As for paint match......it is just as hard to match because there are so many different shades of silver. I will show you what I mean the next time that you are by the shop.

So basically, the reason why it doesn't match 100% is because they didn't blend the paint with the quarter panel. They were trying to save me some money but not having to do it so they waived the $300-$400 for it. They told me this before, the price I would have paid was $1600, which was the price on the quote. I ended up paying $1200 because they waived the price, I was well aware of this at the time.
They looked at the car, within a second, the guy said, "That looks like crap, we're going to blend it." So, instead of having to pay the full $300~ for the job, I only have to pay $100. So next time, I'm in the shop, everything should be fixed plus a new bodykit painted and installed.
I'm glad I went and talked to them, now I'm very satisfied. And they even said that I can do two payments for this (bodykit + blending = $1600) cause I asked if I can do so.
Now there's service!

sounds like a very good reputable co that wants to make their customers happy. and now they have MORE business from you, so obviously it was a win win for both you and them.
